ABAB survey

Didn't find your answer?

Not a question, just want to let my fellow AWebbers know that anyone who has dealings with HMRC may want to complete the annual ABAB survey https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/agent-update-issue-119/issue-....

Thanks for the link Kevin. Will return to this later.

However, do tax agents now have their own 'gender'...?

From the link "including those who identify as tax agents".

Wonder, as a group, if they are included within the Scottish Hate Crime Law.

The Public Accounts Committee is looking into HMRC customer service levels. There's a call for evidence which we can take part in https://committees.parliament.uk/work/8370/hmrc-customer-service/.

Whilst I would endorse anyone prepared to take the time to respond, I have to say my experience of previous attempts to engage with them have not been productive ... they are indeed 'independent' but they are also 'helpless' without any engagement from HMRC (a threat that hangs heavy over their heads).

And if you look at the terms of the Inquiry, you'll see that:
"Based on the NAO report, the Committee will hear from senior HMRC officials* on topics including:
* Improving customer service performance;
* Optimising digital services;
* Plans for customer service workforce reduction."
... so HMRC have absolutely no pre-determination of the line to be spun there.

[*= those officials are the usual happy trio: Jim Harra, Angela MacDonald and Myrtle Lloyd ... so we can all expect to learn from unfettered, transparent facts & opinions]
