ACA-CTA joint programme confusing me (Urgent)

I deferred by CTA exam registration to today but i cant dont have option for Awareness registration

Didn't find your answer?

I deferred by CTA exam registration to today (LAST EXAM REGISTRATION)  stupid of me! If i register tomorrow i will get charged extra £100!

I'm a qualified ACA. And when i try to register for the May exam i  dont have option to choose the "Awareness Paper" registration but the CTA website takes me to ACA-CTA joint programme e "Advisory: Taxation of Major Corporates". I once wrote the awareness paper and failed and i thought the exam registartion would be easy as last time. And i have always thought i can choose to pursue CTA using the traditional route.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I dont know if im missing something.

Hi Videfa

Are you clicking on the big blue "ENTER FOR THE CTA EXAMS HERE" or the tax pathway link in slightly smaller font below on this page http://www.tax.org.uk/students-and-qualifications/examinations/enter-cta...

The first option worked for me yesterday when I registered for the awareness.

Good Luck!!

I suspect you ought to be aware of that already.

Hi Bernard

It depends on what advisory papers you do. I did Individuals and Owner Managed Businesses so the awareness modules for me are VAT and Stamp Taxes, Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates and Corporation Tax.

If you did advisory papers specialising in VAT or CT then awareness would be more about individuals and unincorporated businesses and possibly accounting if not already qualified elsewhere

Its all on the CIOT website under students and qualifications.

I'm pretty old too and have found it to be both challenging and rewarding!
