ACCA honorary work - Mortgage application

Didn't find your answer?

Search AccountingWEB

Hi all,

I’m a qualified ACCA member and have been asked by my friend who has started his new Limited company to prepare his year end accounts, tax return and personal tax. I’m more than happy to do this for him on an honorary basis with no fees but my question is what will happen if he needs me to verify his Limited company figures to his mortgage advisor as I understand an ACCA member without a practicing certificate can’t sign off something to 3rd parties.

 Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you considered asking ACCA directly?

If/when they want a mortgage they can likely rely on SA302s and tax year overviews from the HMRC portal. NB these would be personal tax related, so not based on company profit directly.
