ACCA website bad

ACCA website bad

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

I had half hour to spare so I thought I'd access the cpd article section of the ACCA website to read an article and do some multiple choice questions. After ten minutes trying to find it on their website I gave up! Why is their website such a 'dog's breakfast'? Perhaps it's me.... Anyone else concur?

Thanks,

Matt

It is better than it was

Took me under a minute http://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/member/accounting-business/ab-cpd.html

Perhaps bitter experience with the old site gave me an advantage, it used to be much much worse.

That is EXACTLY what I want, thank you. How can it be so difficult?

The link is going into my favorites!

You need a favourite of the month....

cos the next time you access it, they will have moved it.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having reported numerous errors and just plain lack of logic in their awful websites, over many years.

Sorry not an answer but it is the worst website I've ever had to use.

I've lost the will to do any CPD now. Kids to bed and glass of wine me thinks. I'll do some CPD tomorrow.......

I concur

I've struggled to find what I am looking for on ACCA's website many times.

I think ACCA have just got too big and too international.

I got an e-mail the other day from them celebrating the fact that their Global Business Confidence Survey was 5 years old.  Like I really care what business confidence is like in Timbuktu or where ever.  More wasted subs.

I agree

I've had lots of problems with the ACCA website in the past, especially when I was looking for the practicing certificate information.  The links used to go round in circles and I'd end up no where.  It did get better after a while but I've not been on it for a while.

it's so disappointing to have to constantly read...

... comments about their web site.

What we want is

Option 1 Student or Member

Option 2 UK or International

Option 1 puts all students on their own server/site

Option 2 splits the international stuff, which no one in the UK is really interested in from the basic UK stuff we are looking for.

1. CPD

2. Benefits

3. Subscription

4. professional help assistance.

monopolistic behaviour

The website is diabolical because they just don't care enough to think about what they are doing for their members. Tens of thousands of people will pay them hundreds of pounds every year for decades, regardless of what the ACCA do with their website. The ACCA act like they are very well aware of this. The bare minimum will be sufficient to avoid losing 99% of their income.

In that way it is a bit like a government organisation or a monopoly. I know it is not a true monopoly, but its membership is very 'sticky' (I'm guessing), so it is like a quasi-monopoly.

Just my thoughts.

You are not alone

Out of the three biggest UK Chartered Accountancy websites, I find ACCA to be the most abysmal.  ICAEW structures their content in a very professional, clean-cut way; CIMA is good too, though not as good as ICAEW.  The ACCA website is just monstrous.  They just can't refrain to put everything on the front page, and users feel eye-balling when visiting every time.  Gives me headache.  They, to some extend, improved in that put student/member/new comers in a guiding section on the front page at the moment.

Agree

I often use google to find the stuff I need on their website as navigating it manually is painful!

Search Facility

Just to let you know, the website now has a search facility that now actually works.  This is a very recent addition.
