Access to Charities for agents via online services

Didn't find your answer?

Sorry if this is a noddy question, but  I cannot find any guidance online sadly.

In order to enrol for the "Charities for agents" servce I need an "Agent reference number" and a "Customer account reference number". Do I still need to write to the Central Agent Maintainer Team for this or is there another way.

Thanks in advance!

You are supposed to get the charity to complete a ChV1 (which can also be done by them online if they have a GG account). In their ChV1 they are I think supposed to enter the agent details as a nominee. This I believe generates an "Agent reference number" and a "Customer account reference number" which should then come in the post to you. I tried a couple of times but gave up so I use stand alone GG accounts for the gift aid clients I have.

I hope you have more success than I!

As an update, I made a second attempt at submitting the ChV1 form to appoint my practise as a nominee on 20th May 2020 and today I received in the post my Agent reference number (14 numeric) and customer reference number (10 numeric). I then enrolled for the charities service via online services and entered both reference numbers. This was followed by a message telling me I would receive an activation code in the post within 7 days. I shall report back once I hear back!
