Rang them in early December to ask whether the offer in conjunction with icpa membership was time limited and told it was not. Tried to sign me up for a trial and I explained that December was really busy and January was a write off (50/50 between tardy clients an myself so not moaning about that). They said they understood this and would contact me in February. So far in the first week of January a phone call and an email, which has cheesed me of no end, to the extent that I feel like telling them to forget it. I suppose what I am fed up with is they are supposed to understand what being in practice is all about (and they fact that I might as well have been talking to myself). So my question is, is it as good as they say, shall I get over myself and continue to bat them off and contact them in February, or go with one of the other offerings out there?
I am open to suggestions that I am turning into a miserable old git, I dont suppose the January workload is helping!

Out of sight, out of mind.
They’re just trying to keep their foot in the door.
One phone call and an email isn’t exactly excessive.
Most things are irritating in January. Wait until you're back to your old cuddly self before making a decision in February.
Imagine if it was a prospect of yours that had expressed an interest. You might be keen to get it over the line just in case the prospect thought you weren't really bothered or another firm stepped in.
I recently revived my autoentry account, for the very good reason of new client requiring it.
Very quickly I got a phone call (luckily went to voicemail) from an annoying person pushing training at me. I'm sure I'll get another of these calls soon and if I pick up the phone then I shall tell them to take me off their telesales list otherwise I'll go to the competition.
So I feel for you.
I can see why you are frustrated; I would be also.
I can say though that the software is absolutely amazing and has freed up so much time for me, way beyond expectations. They are releasing an update this month, as they have done most months, that will provide Xero integration and a forms function for creating forms that clients can fill out.
Their list of future developments is quite exciting.
I would hold fire until Feb.
I’m thinking about moving to AM (from Glide).
1. How does it deal with monthly fixed fee invoices?
2. What’s the module like for linking WiP to invoices? We use Xero for our bkpg, although currently use PracticeIgnition for engagement & most invoices.
3. I see that it has a ‘task list’, but does it have a job planner-esque feature for planning the week/month?
Thanks
We looked at both and went for Senta. Because it has total flexiblity but against that you have to set it up just as you want it -this takes a bit of time. We also liked that if you email senta there is often a solution that we had never thought of.
As you would guess no software is perfect. Indeed having all ones eggs in one basket is dangerous.
Our members love Senta.
If you want a practice management system which largely works out the box (beyond you adding in your own clients) then Accountancy Manager = good system.
Whereas if you want to be able to easily configure your workflows then Senta all the way. Senta is shortly going to have zapier integration, and already links with Xero.
