Accountants groups on social media

Are there any good groups for general banter and moaning?

Didn't find your answer?

There are some occasionally entertaining Facebook groups lile Dull Mens Club. While this is crying out for a Dull Accountant's sub group, are there any similar groups in existence for casual banter and moaning as opposed to professional discussion?

Are you looking for Anti-social Media?
If so, let me know when you find it ... probably a lot of fun during downtime - and a perfect re-direct for those who post here once before flouncing off!

I think online forums like this have had their day (rather like my good self perhaps), and there is a limit to the irreverence one can show on them, having to be mindful of the site owners and sponsors. And I'd prefer a closed group where the great unwashed can't go.

Ah, an echo chamber (.. amber .. ber)?

Not as much fun as working out how avoid the mines laid by strangers on here, whilst rambling / trying to crack jokes / pricking the pomposity of HMRC ... and of course tackling a bit of legislation (or just a wounded comrade) from time to time.

That BAADAFQ group.. Wow.

The same people asking stupid questions day in day out, yet you look at their profile, website etc and they come across very confident in their abilities. “Entrepreneurial” “exceptional” “boss it”

It’s everything that’s wrong with the industry but ultimately it will be the client who suffers.

It's the Alan Sugar Effect via The Apprentice - which was so attractive to the Donald (says it all really).

The reality is that doing the right thing is still more productive than confidently telling everyone how brilliant you are ... but the cracks are there and currently being exploited by those parasites who call themselves Influencers.

However apparently their shelflife is even shorter than I'd assumed ... because (and isn't schadenfreude a sweet feeling) Meta et al have spotted that they are by far the easiest 'human activity' to replace with pure AI.
The beta versions are being tested and will annihilate Influencers (with the next in line being Ad Agencies - as Big Tech takes control of all aspects of what's on their platforms)!
