Accountants who use contractors

Which firms are you aware of that outsource compliance work?

Didn't find your answer?

I'm employed part-time and have a small personal practice set up as this allows for the flexibility I need for childcare but the personal practice side is slow-growing and I would like to work with some established firms providing outsourced compliance in the form of accounts, SATR, CT prep etc. I had contacted a number of local firms offering my services but a few declined and many didn't respond to my communications.

It would be really helpful to have a list of firms that are known to outsource work because at the moment I'm just guessing and therefore wasting time on firms that are likely not interested as it is not the way they work. If you know of any firms that regularly outsource work then please drop their names in the comments below.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to provide any names.

It always helps to have some idea of your location. Although most work is or can be done at home sometimes it is necessary to go into an office for certan things.

Based on outskirts of Reading.

would imagine most of the work would be remote but would be willing to travel a fair distance for infrequent office visits.

Well done on your efforts so far. And I agree what you're doing makes more sense than trying to start your own practice.

I'm not sure though there are many firms around that simply outsource at random. Most of the firms that I know outsource to specific contractors or outsourcing companies. They rarely change their providers until and unless there is a problem.

Have you tried using Linkedin to connect with local firms and sole practitioners? Ensure your profile on Linkedin makes clear your expertise and your availability to take on more outsourced work. Create or update your profile there before you start trying to connect with anyone. Once you have connected and if your profile gives a positive first impression, you can then offer your services.

Remember to look at it from their perspective. It won't be about offering you work. It'll be about solving their resourcing problems.
