Accountex - Should I go again this year?

Accountex - Should I go again this year?

Didn't find your answer?

I attended Accountex last year and found it great. I'm trying to decide if I would benefit from going again this year. Anyone else having the same dilemma?

I always get something from it, even it is just some CPD hours.

If you got something out of it last time then go again. Repeat until you no longer find it useful :)

The first year

I went to the Carole Nash Motorcycle Show at the NEC, I had an excellent time. We did an off roading taster session, go karting, mini moto racing, got to attend some talks and shows (including the wall of death), grab some bargain gear, and most importantly, see all the bikes we wanted to buy up close and personal. It was a belter of a day and ended up with me unable to walk for a few days (think 6ft man on 1ft minimoto with a stuck throttle). I wouldn't have changed it for the world.

The next year, we went again attempting to recapture the magic of that first visit but alas, it just didn't happen, it wan't the same. The credit crunch reduced it to bare bones.

Anyway, my point is, I wouldn't have known the next year wasn't for me unless I actually went and therefore you should go an make up your own mind.

I didnt go last year but...

I didnt go because by the time I decided the train fare had increased to £50 - each way!

But this time I've already got my ticket at £30 return.

In 2014 I had a great time - meeting John and the gang from Accweb in person and listening to good informative speakers.

I'm looking to get into the cloud and facilitate clients to get Apps for receipts etc before the new system kicks in.

I enjoyed it last year.

Good to meet a few suppliers that only speak to on phone and good to see everyone that matters all under one roof.

As mush as anything I just enjoyed a few days away from my desk to see what was going on in the outside world.

The new business show that is on next door is also worth a look around if you get time.

I better get some rail tickets booked as forgot about that.

I'm booked to go.  I had a decent couple of days, met my tax software supplier, and attended a couple of really good CPD seminars.  Worth it for that alone!  Also somehow got an invite to a free drinks thing at the end of day 1 which was good fun!

Thank you!

Thank you for all your replies. I like the sound of drinks afterwards @Thomas. Leaning towards going again. It would be good to get away from the desk for a few days.
