Replacing TAS

Didn't find your answer?

I have been using TAS Books for 17 years, but Sage are trying to run it down. They now want nearly £1,000 for the annual licence. I am looking for an alternative to migrate to. I want something with the following attributes;

1) Any transaction can be edited or deleted, including ones from previous years.

2) Year-end closure is 'soft', and so b/f balances can automatically recalculated if a transaction is changed in a previous year.

3) Bank transactions can be individually unreconciled.

4) P/L and S/L payments can be unallocated.

5) VAT will be adjusted correctly in the next filing for any transactions that formed part of a previous return and which were subsequently deleted or edited

6) The proper double entry is displayed when making entries.

7) Reports show proper DR/CR columns, and don't have the silly positive/negative red/black nonsense.

8) Not cloud based.

Does anyone know of a system that ticks these boxes? Xero, Sage, and Quickbooks don't even come close.

Sage are doing their darndest to kill it, but tasbooks users know a good thing when they have it. I have clients who moved to sage and afer a year went back to tasbooks.

In the past sage have told me it wont run on windows 10 ( it does ) they wont support it ( they do and I pay a yearly fee for excellent service. ) I have even managed to get my ecommerce linked 100% so for me its not leaving the building anytime soon.

Nicest thing is the way it does handles the vat, sends email invoices and statements.

Also there is a piece of software called clickyes that removes the need to keep pressing yes on the outlook permission when sending invoices.
