Accounts to CH and HMRC after dissolution

Submitting final ye accounts to CH and HMRC after dissolution

Didn't find your answer?

Could you please clarify if the final accounts for YE 31 Mar 2020 need to be submitted to Companies House in these cases:

1. When Company applied for voluntary dissolution on 1 Jan 2020 and was dissolved before YE 31 Mar 2020; and what period the final CT600 is required?

2. When Company applied for voluntary dissolution on 1 Mar 2020 but was only dissolved  after YE; and what period the final CT600 is required, to YE or to the date it was dissolved which might require CT for two period?

3. When Company applied for voluntary dissolution on 31 July 2020; and what period the final CT600 is required, to YE only or again for two periods?

Thanks

Nothing ever needs to be submitted after the dissolution date.

If your clients dissolved the company and ran away with its money leaving HMRC unpaid, even if HMRC should have objected but didn’t, you should be thinking of doing something else entirely.

The final CT600 is to the date the company ceases trading. You should have filed this before filing the DS01. I assume the tax had already been paid.

A quick follow up on your reply:
So if a company ceased trading 4 months after YE, then final CT will be for 16 months (two sets of CT). And what period the corresponding full accounts will be, also 16 months?

Provided you provide the amounts to HMRC and pay the tax, I don’t think it matters.

If you haven’t prepared accounts yet, then yes you could do 16 month accounts and 2 CT returns. I always write to HMRC to advise them too.

Is this hypothetical or has the company been dissolved?

And will you get paid?

And will the directors appove what you are filing, particularly if there is an overdrawn directors loan

Sorry I don’t understand your questions.

If you haven’t been paid or if the company can’t pay the tax are separate issues from those asked.

I would certainly make sure HMRC know how much tax so they can object if they wish.

The company is about to be dissolved and I just want to make sure we do the right things before we file DS01. Director has instructed us and we will surely seek his approval on submission. The company will pay any taxes due too, so no issues here.
We are going to be paid of course :))))) Why you even raise this question, Paul?

Thanks ALL, you are helpful as always!
