Hi There,
Has anyone had any recent experience of changing Agent address details with HMRC?
I have been advised by HMRC to write to the Central Agent Maintainer Team to do this for SA, CT, PAYE and CIS but is there something the same for VAT?
I am in the fortunate position of knowing that I am not moving until 28/02/2019 and also that I am going to be working from home. Based on this, do you think that it would be a good idea to start the process a few months before I move as I will be able to receive correspondence at both addresses (my phone number is not changing).
I want to make this as smooth as possible as I have over 250 clients and I'm already stressed out trying to keep up with the GDPR regs etc.
Any advice and sharing of recent experiences would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,
There was a thread on this a few months ago (https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/vat-for-agents-changing-addr...)
I think the conclusion was that changing the VAT address is impossible and a new one needs creating!
Worked from home, rented an office now own third premises. Good luck with VAT. Best to start again from scratch with that one.
Revenue and Customs are still very much separate operations in this respect.
SA better but for reasons no one can (be bothered) to explain we still get some personal tax codes and calculations at the home address which was last used for business in 2013. Would love to ask about the GDPR aspect of this but have lost the will.
Just send the letter as advised. Include your agent codes for online services.
HMRC will, eventually, make the changes.
I've moved my home and business twice in the last 10 years and managed to get the address updated for income tax and CT but have never managed to get them to change the address on the PAYE system, despite at least 4 letters. Any suggestions?
