ADVICE NEEDED

Merging two practices into one new entity

Didn't find your answer?

Looking to merge a ltd co practice and a sole tradership into one new litd company - can all the existing 64-8 authorities be transferred "on mass" to new co - new company is purchasing all IP, logo, image rights, clients etc and the members of the two old businesses are the directors of new co - all clients have been advised and agreed to merger.

Really don;t wnat to have to resub over 5,000 64-8 applications !!

I did a 64-8 transfer in similar circumstances some years ago and it worked like magic. It should still work in theory, but with all the HMRC 'improvements' it may not now work so smoothly, so good luck!

Just write to the Central Agent Authorisation Team and ask them to do it. They did this for me 3 years ago when I went from sole trader to Ltd, although the volume was nowhere near yours.

We are in the same position here. Did you manage to find an easy away around these restrictions possibly caused by the recent change to GDPR? Thanks

Nope - idiots took 91 days to do the registration (quoted 45) and now waiting on codes from Agent Maintainer Office (first lot mysteriously disappeared so have had to order all again) Registration says 7 days for this but when you call they say 10 working days !

Then I have to reapply for authority on all 1300 clients AGAIN !!

HMRC are beyond a joke these days
