Agent Authorisation

Fast and quick way for agent authorisation

Didn't find your answer?

I would like to know whats the best and fast way to get agent authorisation for Payroll in order to process wages as the paper version takes 4-5 weeks and sometimes lost in between. Is there any online way of getting it done quicker. Also in respect to self assessment and CT as well.

Thanks

Abdul, its in your agent services where its been for about the past 15 (?) years.

Wakey wakey.

The words "get authorised by client" have clearly passed you by for some time.

You go to your agent account and on the first screen you choose Authorise Client, they then receive a code in the post which they send you to input within 30 days.

SA, however, does have an online link system (as does VAT) as part of the ASA and the Agents Api (which is now out of a private pilot and in a public pilot since last week).

How would you register as agent for a client through an ASA? Sorry John I always have trouble understanding all this.

For VAT and SA there are two online routes.

You can use the ASA to request an invitation and then you get a URL that the client can use to authorise you as an agent.

Similarly you can use the Agents API to do the same (I can demonstrate this online if you wish to try it)

The client uses their gateway account to confirm the authorisation.

Sorry I should have said the fastest way is for your client to login to their respective gateway account and authorise you as agent. In practice none of my clients have gateway accounts so I use the postal route.
