Agreements with Subcontractors

Agreement with Subcontractors

Didn't find your answer?

I need some bookkeeping help to free up my time and I have found someone suitable who has a day job, but wants extra work on days off, evenings and weekends etc.  I want to get a watertight but simple subcontractor / freelance agreement in place to protect us both and to make everything crystal clear.  I don't want to just take a chance on doing this myself.

Can anyone recommend a legal firm / solicitor who could do this for me and who is familiar with the Accountancy / Bookkeeping profession.  Also, what sort of fee should I be expecting for a solicitor to draw this agreement up for me?

Thanks

I’m sure you could just get a template off the internet for a modest fee unless you think you have particular and unique requirements.

If you are advising clients, in what is a quite a topical area at the moment I would have thought that you would undertand how to construct a contract of this nature. If not how can you possibly advise your clients as to where they stand in relation to IR35? Solicitors do not understand IR35. It's not a solicitor you want but more experience and training.

Does your insurer know that you do legal work?

There used to be one in AAT pack but for some reason it has disappeared. IAB has tonnes of information on their website.
We use rocket lawyer quite frequently for straightforward affairs.
