We currently use Sage 50 and Sage Job Costing. We are a manufacturer of vehicle bodies and heavily use Sage Job Costing.
It is perfect for our needs with the booking of labour, materials, costs, stock, S1 items (as we have a lot of bespoke products) to job numbers and reports such as WIP, profitability etc. The problem is that whilst Sage haven't updated Job Costing for many, many years, they have supported it and guaranteed it will work with the latest Sage 50 version. Unfortunately that support has now ended by Sage, so we are left in a sitiation of finding an alternative. Sage Job Costing is very old, very clunky and slow, but it does do what we need and I've not yet found an alternative that does everything it does.
I have been on to Sage for years about Job Costing, they do not have a replacement that offers everything that Job Costing does. The projects on sage 50 for example barely scratches the surface of Job Costing.
At this point, I'm happy to consider anything, even moving away from Sage 50 to Sage 200 and find a solution with that or a different supplier of software altogether. If anyone has suggestions I would be most welcome.
