An AJAX HTTP Error Occurred???

An AJAX HTTP Error Occurred???

Didn't find your answer?

There was a question asked a few days ago which interested me so I thought I would check it there was any further responses to it. However due to the numerous questions asked on the forum, questions quickly disappear from the front page.

However when I click the button below for "Load More" it comes up with a warning box.

The box contains various codes which have little meaning to me, but it starts by saying "AN AJAX HTTP ERROR OCCURRED, HTTP RESULT CODE 200"

What does this mean, does anybody else get this? It has been coming up for some time and I have tried button on my home computer which gives the same results.

I'm no IT expert ( I'm a novice if I'm being generous) so I have no idea what is going on.

I'm not familiar with AJAX systems, so I can't diagnose the fault, and it's never happened to me anyway. However a curious aspect is that 200 is the code returned from a SUCCESSFUL http request, so it's not actually an error at all!

You need to talk to whoever is running the website or check your internet connection. "Old fashioned" websites would just load up whole pages. This was often not very interactive so more interactive websites use a technique called Ajax (that stands for asynchronous JavaScript and xml.). The web page runs code written in JavaScript that pulls down information from the server after the page has initially loaded. This error would indicate to me a coding error in the JavaScript or an intermittent connection problem with your connection or the server. It could also be caused by security settings in your browser or firewall blocking the call.
