Involving an HMRC contractor no less. How embarrassing for them (HMRC sensibly settled it at the court doors, so there is no published decision)!

No precedent set and also HMRC (alleged) record in Court maintained (even though they conceded to 100% of what contractor wanted) so HMRC can then continue to use statistics in their promotional letters and materials which lead taxpayers, with a legitimate dispute, to conclude there is no point in continuing to fight HMRC.
Is this the way HMRC works?
