Any accounting practice sellers?

A friend of mine is interested in returning to private practice. She is based in SW London/Surrey

Didn't find your answer?

My friend would like to return to private practice. She is based in South West London/Surrey area. She'd be happy with a slow handover or any other reasonable options to suit. She aged in her mid-40s and very personable. Please let me know. Her and myself would respect any level of confidentially required.

Peter

I'm the UK expert on who's doing what when it comes to selling businesses :)

Nicola Draper of Draper Hinks has already been mentioned. Yes, she is highly regarded.

You can also approach several other business brokers who specialise in selling accountancy practices. There's Bains, Watts and Co; Goldsmiths Accountancy Advisory Services; Maximiti Ltd; Crowley and Crowley Ltd; Nicolson Accountancy LLP; Owens Professional; Retiring Accountants; Swat UK; Vivian Sram Ltd and others.

Out of the 1000+ business brokers in the UK, there are 20+ who specialise in selling just accountancy practices, there are another 100 or so who specialise in selling "professional practices" including dental surgeries, solicitors etc. It's worth approaching them as well.

And there are many hundreds of sector agnostic brokers some of whom will have an accountancy practice or two on their books.

From my monitoring of the industry I would say it's very much a sellers' market out there for accountancy practices and payroll companies, so expect a lot of competition especially for the smaller practices. Expect to pay a higher multiple of gross recurring fees than you would have paid a few years ago.

All the best.

No problem. If you want to hire someone to deal source for you, you can speak with Ran Carmon of Chelsea Corporate, a buy side broker firm. He's probably already working on some client mandates to buy practices.

If you mention my name he may even give you a discount (given I never charge him an introducer fee).

Peter, you could sell her half of your practice and semi-retire!
