Do they exist yet?
HMRC can't even get the online system correct yet which threats of penalties if return not made & CGT paid within 30 days:-

Its worth phoning the HMRC agent line for this. They send out (fairly quickly) a specific one for the client & you may actually get a copy of the response that they send to the client when they eventually process it (only 1 out of 4 that I did last year but anything is better than nothing).

Don't think we've had any paper ones processed at all from last year. Several submitted, none processed.

Me neither. I think they just get chucked in a big box marked "pending" or whatever.

Perhaps I was just lucky but I submitted four paper returns in September 2021 and they were all processed in less then three months. Based on other AWebbers' feedback, I had been fully expecting a five month wait.

Same - sent a paper CGT return last week of October 2021. HMRC sent reference for payment on 15th December. I had been told the forms are processed more quickly when the paper return is issued for a specific taxpayer.

Like other posters, I would be highly surprised if there is any change in the paper forms for the 60-day deadline considering the system hasn't been updated for this when it comes to penalty reminders.

Re your first para, all four of mine were indeed taxpayer-specific, with their reference numbers printed very small at the edge.

All HMRC responses to the submissions went to my clients, with nothing to me.

Three submitted in September, all taxpayer-specific, no responses received whatsoever to date.

Ah. Just the luck of the draw then. Any chance your clients have heard but haven't bothered to let you know? (Although it sounds like you have already asked them.)

I sent 2 paper returns in for married couple in April 2021. I dealt with in July & I got a copy of the response. Other spouse dealt with in September & I got no copy. 2 further paper returns done in May 2021. HMRC dealt with in November - no copy sent to me. Clients had just assumed I would be sent a copy of HMRC response so didn't advise me.
I would be very surprised if current paper returns have any mention of 60 days as opposed to 30 days.
