Anyone in Practice a big fan of VT Accounts +?

If you are in Practice using Vt Account+, interested in debate of VT Accounts + vs using Cloud based

Didn't find your answer?

Anyone in Practice using Vt Account+, interested in debate of VT Accounts + vs using Cloud based.  Thinking of moving my small business from entirely EXCEL spreadsheet based management of my accounts to VT Accounts OR to a Cloud based system of which there are many.  I have been looking at VT Accounts + and am really impressed by it and hoping that is something that some Accountants are using in their practice.  I don't want to invest in a big accounts system...

We have been using it for years and never had any problems. For the price I don't think you can beat it.

We use it for most of our clients - I am assuming you mean VT Transaction+ bookkeeping?
It is easier to learn, quicker to use and cheaper than online systems.

Lots of accountants use it and are big fans. It is not flashy, no bells and whistles and if you are not an accountant can be a little tougher to get to grips with. Reason being it deals in old-school double-entry bookkeeping and inconvenient organisation of accounts into ledgers etc.

It is fantastic. This will be my MTD solution for clients not in the cloud.

Downsides are version control (shared folder in Dropbox is too much for some of my clients), poor invoice template, no version for Mac and no audit trail. Upsides are price, ease of use, compatibility with excel, final accounts preparation, speed of entry and the universal input sheet.

Although I use VT+, and find it the best thing since Hovis started slicing their bread, I don't use the invoicing facility on my own accounts, for the same reason. For that I use sliq and use the universal input sheet to transfer the figures into VT. Job sorted.

Not quite true about Hovis though, as I remember (as a kid) we would buy an uncut loaf and eat doorsteps layered with butter. yum yum .

I don't like sliced bread. I've no idea why people bang on about it.

For data entry speed there really is nothing that can touch it, entries are so easy to amend, and copying ledgers into Excel for further analysis and manipulation couldn't be simpler. Massive fan here.

I'm not clear if you want this for your practice ie for clients' accounts, or just for yourself. If it's just for you, VT+ is perfect, you don't need Cloud accounting. If it's for clients, unless they are doing some or all of their own bookkeeping, again, cloud accounting doesn't seem to be necessary.
