Are partners who have children together connected?

SEIS

Didn't find your answer?

An unmarried couple have children together, the GF owns 100% of the shares in a company and the BF is considering investing in the company under SEIS/EIS (owning say 20%) - are they connected and thus due to them both owning more than 30% not able to do this?

I studied this area early on in school and there is almost always some sort of connection in the first place in these situations.

No connection, if a turkey baster was used.

As far as I know, and assuming no other connection, no connection at all unless they are married or civil partners.

Yes; that's why I said almost always (except that possibility was not taught to me in school)!

Not connected. Which seems a bit archaic in this day and age but I suppose it's quite hard to legally define and/or prove a connection without an actual legal connection.

I find that children tend to get in the way of any "connecting".
