Auditor Required

We require a reliable auditor for one client who now requires a statutory audit.

Didn't find your answer?

We are an accountancy practice based in South Wales. We provide a full range of services, apart from audit. Until now all our clients have fallen outside the compulsary audit thresholds, but this year will see one of our clients exceed the turnover and total assets thresholds.

We are looking to engage an auditor for this client, and any others that might require it in the future, who will not try and poach the client(s) for services we provide or could provide.

Surely it is your client that should be engaging the auditor...

Yes of course it is - but I am guessing that the client has asked the OP for advice on which firms to contact.

Client: so you're saying because we have grown we now require an audit, do you know a good auditor?

OP: yes! let me just go and post on an internet forum.

Joking aside, to OP:
I work for an audit firm myself and we do have similar arrangements, however these are generally with local firms and/or where we have an established relationship with the partner(s) at the other firm. Which I suppose reinforces the trust aspect that we won't poach the client entirely.

My best suggestion is therefore to contact some local small firms that do audit and sell them the idea that you can produce a beautiful accounts file and it'll be the smoothest audit they've ever had. Mutuality of trust between your firm and audit firm will go from there.
