Awkward insolvency practitioner

Awkward insolvency practitioner

Didn't find your answer?

Okay, recently looked to start introducing to a IP. Three cases lined up, usual OMB stuff.

First case turns to rats very quickly as despite me giving a detailed briefing and a full pack of papers, the IP looks at nothing until late on the Friday before a winding up hearing on the following Monday morning.

To make matters worse, they ring my office on the Friday, leave no messages with anyone when they can't speak to my assistant or me and only respond mid day Saturday to my enquiry as to what they were planning to do on Monday morning with "the client needs to pay £x thousand otherwise it will be a compulsory liquidation"

Clearly I was not impressed!

They have now engaged an aggressive law firm to threaten me that if I tell anyone about this they will sue me and that all fees for all three jobs should be paid by return or they'll sue me.

Clearly they have "no hope and Bob Hope" of getting any money or work from me ever, but how does the community suggest I get rid of this outfit and get back done of the cash I've had to spend engaging a lawyer to get an extension to the winding up hearing they so wonderfully didn't deal with?

Baffled
Why on earth are you responsible for paying their fees? Surely that's between the clients you have introduced and them.

And why have you incurred a liability to pay lawyers' fees on behalf of an insolvent client?

Question.

Steve I read your posts on here and you come across as an intelligent guy.

Q.) How the hell did you get involved with this company?

I don't get the "if I tell

I don't get the "if I tell anyone about this they will sue me" bit? Are they wanting you to keep your bad experience to yourself to save their reputation?

And was the contract between you and them or client and them?
