Bank Holiday Madness

Crazy ?

Didn't find your answer?

I've just been on the phone to Aoife at the credit card company.  We concluded our business with Aoife saying "that will go through on Tuesday, because it's a bank holiday on Monday."

So this is what we've come to.  It's a bank holiday weekend.

Aoife's working.

The computer is on holiday till Tuesday morning.

I don't get it.

Yes - June Bank Holiday.

If you're in Ireland.

Or, as Mrs Lion would say, "down South."

Ach - you don't need a visa to get into Ireland.

You only notice you're there when the road signs turn yellow and black.

It has long been a frustration of mine that i can't carry out bank transactions involving me and a wholly on line service any day of the week, let alone bank holidays.

I am assuming that no human being is required to eft monies from one bank a/c to another within the UK these days.

Maybe the bits get the days off aswell.

But the humans are working.

It's the computers that have the weekend off - at the seaside, watching the GAA game, filling in their Robot Tax returns, taking the peripherals to the pictures or whatever computers do with their time off.

It makes no sense.
