Bank repayment pending on HMRC?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi everybody! I filled and submited my SA tax return for the last 3 years on 12 Dec 2019, next day was showing that i have 5,790k £ credit on my SA account, but i had saw it that 2.900k £ was allocated for late filling penalty so on 13 Dec i've  made an appeal against those penalties.  On 16 Dec i requested a repayment, and in the next days was showing Bank repayment pending. On 19 Dec i get a response for my penalties appeal which was succesufuly and they erase all penalties from my account.

So know how long will show that Bank repayment pending until will be issued? Can be delayed because i made that appeal ? Today is 22 Dec but it's Sunday ... on my account it's say information at 20 Dec so i think they will update tommorow..

HMRC have spent all your money on the furlough scheme, you will have to wait until just after 31 January 2021. Good news though, you can charge penalties for late payment by HMRC.

i did speak to the online advisor the online chat on hmrc they check my status and that guy told me to wait till 6 of june 2020 it will be 2 months he didnt said why it takes so long just said "extra security check" but i think if it says on my page bank repayment pending it means as has been accepted so why they do any other checks if once accepted.

What sort of a magician are you
You file on 12/012/19
You see a refund due and a penalty on 13/12/19
Successful penalty appeal 16/12/19. I note you don't say what the appeal grounds were for filing 2 years late. We're very interested in those
I wish I could get HMRC moving that fast
Or
Hello Portia

I don't make any joke mate honestly that was happened now i'm still waiting for the HMRC system to get update because it's still showing 20th date.
The reason for appeal was " Now i discovered how to fill SA and how to make an appeal " exactly this words :))

Not it is not, it is an "accountant" who has made profitable use of the "learn whilst your bill" scheme run on Accounting Web. It reverses the natural order, instead of apprenticeship first, experience second, set up firm third we now have design website first, find clients second, quote them a fee third (usually fixed) then actually find out what you need to do by posting on here last. (Frankly really getting annoyed with accountancy , a few days ago I received a letter from some stack em high merchants offering fast turn around limited company accounts for £299- sooner I totally pack in all work the better)

This rant is mainly because I am so bored, I am stuck in the office as the b****y wine company from which I ordered a case of better than usual plonk on the 8th, managed to employ a driver who "left it at our fire stair" on the 11th at 5.55 pm despite instructions to deliver from 9.00-5.00 ,which has ever since been puzzling me as we do not even have a fire stair. Obviously he was not the smartest cookie, the one thing one does not do in Scotland is leave booze unattended, there are even some bars where your pint can go awol, it may not have been Buckie but obviously the first case was dropped somewhere on the business park and some local is now having a very Merry Christmas on my St Emilion et al.

Anyway its replacement is out for delivery per the tracking so instead of being on holiday being coughed upon by my unwell son whilst watching the "Star Wars" channel( His own fault, he flew over to see his intended in the USA earlier this month , no doubt caught it on the flight home and is obviously now going to infect the rest of us; the only place more dangerous than a plane at this time of year is a doctor's surgery.)

So I am here, gazing out on a near empty carpark as most of our tenants are on holiday, contemplating Life, the Universe and Everything.

My understanding is that tax refunds in excess of £2k needs to be reviewed and approved by another level within HMRC to go through successfully. So, it is possible that you may receive this today or tomorrow ie before the 25th Dec as Xmas present.

Hi I submitted my personal tax return and now it's saying I have the money available for repayment. Do I have to request a repayment or will it automatically go into my bank as I put my bank details in when I filed the return?

Hi, just wondering if anybody could help. I submitted my tax amendment on the 2nd of January and on the 4th January it allowed me to request the payment. It’s now been on bank repayment pending for the past 3 days. Does anyone know any rough idea of when this would now be issued? Thanks

Bank repayment pending can show up to 5 working days, if it's not pick up for security checks.
On Payments and credits received section can you see if you have any repayment suppliment ? (Ex: 12/01/2021 Repayment suppliment 3.87£ ) the date from the left it's mean the day when Bank Repayment Pending go to Bank Repayment Issued (anyway can be with 1-2 days before or later from that date sometimes) .

Unfortunately never. The 'request payment' option has never, ever worked for me. Have tried it dozens of times. It just does nothing.

In addition, in your case, as it was an amendment, you are probably looking at months before HMRC look at it.

In my experience the ONLY way you will get the refund (if it hasn't been made by the system as a natural consequence of filing) is by ringing HMRC. Oh and at the moment the chances of getting through in under an hour are virtually nil.

Same here on electronic request for refund

That needs a telephone call

Hi, you've done your SA return yourself? Or somebody else ? On the return you have the option that HMRC can pay into your account or to a nominee. If you set your bank details definetly it's going there.
Why did you change the bank details in the return?(if you done that when the repayment is in pending definetly will delay the repayment) More than that it's not a good ideea to play with the bank accounts in the return submitted... HMRC can believe that it's a possible fraud and take a look closer on your return which again it will be delay your repayment by weeks.
Anyway you can check your tax account Tuesday to see if is any changes (HMRC system didn't update over the weekend).

As you said earlier, you maked some changes on your tax return file where you have changed your bank details... that's going to delay your repayment which can be selected for aditional security checks..
If tomorrow your payment it's not get issued, that's mean you have to wait a few week's and you can give them a call and ask about your repayment.

Why dont you actually look at the responses made by the Accountants on this site who have answered you already (one days ago).

To help you, one has a name beginning with 'W' and one has a name beginning with 'P'.
