Benefit from biggest personal tax in a decade

News story from HM Gov 6th July. Spin gone wrong. How long before they notice?

Didn't find your answer?

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tax-cut-worth-up-to-330-comes-in-for-...

'30 million people across the UK will benefit from the biggest personal tax in a decade from today'

Proof reading a thing of the past?

Still it is actually true. Biggest increase in National Insurance (AKA Tax) in a decade

Further down you can look by trade or profession to see what the threshold change does to mitigate that incrrease

Unfortunately Accountants, Bookkeepers and Tax advisors appear to get nothing

I note also that NI is a tax when it's being cut but not when being increased.

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”

We appear to now have a Cabinet solely occupied by Humpty clones, so you can take your pick when interpreting any statement ...

I think this was just political spin for this weeks "aren't the tories great" story for the Tory Press (ie all of it except the Guardian). But they were a bit busy for some reason.....albeit surprised the Daily Hate didn't run this instead of having to mention Boris being in a bit of mild peril although I note they have spun it such that Boris is the wounded party. Poor innocent chap.

It really shows how far we have sunk that the Treasury now do political spin press releases on demand.

No idea who would instruct the creation of such a page. A partisan political statement.
Worse was it being referred to on BBC News, as a tax cut, and with no context. Hence a googled Tax cut as I genuinely thought that I had missed an announcement by new chancellor
New chancellor also mentioned the tax cut in an interview
