I am looking for any advice or recommendations of tools used for project management specific to the construction industry.
My client has a turnover around £500k and has recently moved their bookkeeping from manual records over to Xero. They are looking to use a tool to help manage their projects from the initial stage of quoting through to final completion. I understand that Xero has its own tool WorkflowMax. I do not have experience of using this function and was wondering if it really is the best tool for the job. Does anyone have any experience of WorkflowMax or any other management tool?

Yes I do. There are a number of products aimed at trades and construction from the very basic, like Xero Projects, to the complex like simPRO and Buildertrend.
For your client to get the best from a 3rd party app their needs should be properly scoped then you can match the most appropriate app(s) to these. If your client is happy to run with this themselves, I suspect not given their history, you could point them towards the Xero Marketplace.
But wouldn't integrate with Xero without using Zapier or Power Automate which is clearly beyond the current capabilities of the client and OP
