Best software to submit a few CT600s each year?

Best cheap software to file a few CT600s each year?

Didn't find your answer?

I only have a few clients who need to file CT600s and need some software that will file XBRL CT600s, sometimes two in one year (split periods). Any recommendations? Thanks all.

This has been asked pretty recently, someone who had very few like you, have a quick search.

Tried that - can't seem to find the solution I want from answers given. TaxFiler is closest but I've tried that before and things went badly wrong and I'd rather have software that is a "per CT600/iXBRL set of accounts" licence fee so I pay as I go.

I am using Capium, an online package. It does Accounts Production and takes it through to CT600. I found it very difficult to start with but am getting used to it. I have around 10 limited companies.

Unfortunately the basic package with just Accounts Production and CT filing is £432 per annum (including VAT).

Andica appears to be £45 per company to file a CT600 (and does the accounts iXBRL) included.

TopupTax is only £5 per company but you also need Accounts Production software to turn accounts into iXBRL - so need to find cheap AP software now!

VT for Accounts Production. So easy to use, great software and great pricing.

If you don't already have iXBRL tagged accounts, Taxfiler £10 pcm version will cover accounts and CT for 10 clients.

If you already have accounts in tagged iXBRL format, Absolute (TopUp Tax) is worth a look. Andica also has low-user rates for CT.

However, it depends what software you use for your other clients (e.g. SA) as you may get an add-on for that (e.g. Taxcalc)

There are, of course, many other options, they're pretty easy to find on Google and, tbf it's what works for you - and your budget!

There's so many on Google it's hard to know where to start so better to ask accountants who use it.

TopUpTax looks perfect - at £5 per CT600 - but you need iXBRL accounts and it only allows you to file for accounts up to 31/3/22 at the moment.

I have tried Taxfiler but it allowed me to file an incorrect CT600 with no way of retrieving or correcting it which took ages to sort out with HMRC who couldn't handle the situation either!

So I'd like to find either AP software or integrated software (that isn't TaxFiler) to find a package that works on a "per set of accounts basis" at a reasonable cost.

Preparing financial statements and CT600 is free with Sage for Accountants here: https://www.sage.com/en-gb/accountants/

Hi Chris

Please could you just clarify (for OP, me and others), is CT, PT and AP now free for all clients - regardless of whether the client has a Sage Accounting subscription?

I've not been upgraded from Partner Edition yet so am unsure as to whether this is now the case. I know there used to be a charge for PT, CT and AP to use these for clients without a subscription.

Clearly, if a subscription is also required, that may put off the OP who seems to be after a cheaper alternative.

When you can actually find the pricing on the website it is completely unintelligible anyway which is not what I need.

I rang Sage and they tried to transfer me to the Leeds area rep. After being on hold for a while they suggested a callback. Said the rep would callback in "5-10 minutes". Three hours later I'm still waiting. I'm not sure they want to expalin their pricing structure....

".. when you're upgraded .."
sounds suspiciously like "after you've paid us for some other offering first."

Can you confirm what one has to do (and what it costs) to get to the position where one can take advantage of the 'free upgrade'?
[Your website is as opaque with regard to pricing as any that I've encountered].

I would second (and 3rd) Hugo and Leywood!

When will we be upgraded?

On another - related point. You currently have a reduced offer for Sage Accounting (ends 18th May) but it appears to be for 'Sage for Accountants' users only (additional discounts are not shown on Partner Edition!). It's advertised all over AWeb but, seems to not apply to those who have not yet been upgraded (i.e. the loyal customer base).

I have a few (perpetual license) desktop users who would like to move to the cloud but don't want to change software providers. They know about the enhanced discount but don't understand why I won't sign them up!

Agree with Hugo - 'Can you confirm what one has to do (and what it costs) to get to the position where one can take advantage of the 'free upgrade'?'

Come on Chris, expand on this please.

VT for the accounts production and TopUp Tax for the CT600 works out pretty reasonably.
And VT can also be used for sole trader & partnership accounts, so that might help spread the cost.

I use VT for accounts and Ftax for the CT600.
https://www.ftax.co.uk/

You can buy in different size packages from Ftax e.g. if you want just five CT600s, that would be £75 + VAT.
