Breast enlargement surgery

Didn't find your answer?

Contextual Google ads are working well today. See the bridal shop thread. Made me curious. Post a response if you see anything interesting. ;)

Where do you get ads?

What sites were you on that came up with those ads?  I used to get them on FB but Firefox put a stop to that.

Interesting, I have no ads over there!  I wonder if my FF is blocking them, I'll switch to IE...

Probably more comfortable than the golf bag which must be quite smelly by now.

Seriously though

They are personalised ads if you have a google account - click on the X top right hand corner of the add and you'll be asked to update your ad preferences.

Yep

It was the same ad several times (a building with a post it note on it) but it was there.  Yay FF for saving me from adverts!

Oh I see...

... yes I often get the post it note on a building one, and an annoying Sage one, and a couple of others.

Are Democratus and Kent Accountant using Chrome? There is an adblocker you can get for Chrome if you don't have any IT police (which I imagine Kent Accountant, at least, won't).

Yep

Chrome for me.

Just spend way too much time looking for breast enlargements.

IT police is Mrs KA and I'm not being monitored at the moment...

It's not just you...

... now I've seen the conveen incontinence ad. Understand the golf bag reference now too.

Possibly just because it was mentioned in the thread!

Shedding some light on adchoices

First off, thanks to those of you not using adblockers - as you may be aware, AWEB is free thanks to advertising which we work hard to ensure is as relevant and appropriate as possible for everyone on the site :-)

If you ever spot strange ads, the first thing to check for is the AdChoices logo in the top right-hand corner of the advert. There's more info on how these ads work here but the gist of it is that it's based on your browsing habits and what data Google has access to. Don't worry, we're not secretly gathering any additional info - it's the same as you see on many sites across the 'net.

We can take action if there's inappropriate being displayed (sometimes, as with the bridal shop thread, the context gets confused and an unrelated ad shows up) so do let us know by emailing [email protected] if you see anything weird.

Hope that helps!
