Assuming we ever actually Brexit, does this mean that we can change VAT rules in terms of place of supply so that we can get out of VATMOSS ??

Do you have a pin? If so, stick it in the following list and you'll have an answer.
Maybe
Yes
No
Unlikely
Likely
Possibly
Impossible
Sure
Never
Sucky
More sucky
Less sucky
Sheesh
If that answer is not good enough, I guess you'll just have to wait and see, like the entire rest of the world.
With all that is changing to the profession, I think trying to guess what may or may not happen is a pointless exercise.
Tim, I wish I had put the pins in my eyes instead of clicking into this thread.
Well, if not within the EU have a look at what non members need to do re sales of digital services to individuals within the EU.
"Businesses outside the EU (for example, the USA) that supply digital services to consumers in one or more EU member state are also affected by the changes."
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-supplying-digital-service...
Looks to me as if "you can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave"
The Conservatives did mention that they will still be keeping some of their EU requirements post Brexit. Given that VAT was only introduced in the UK when Britain joined the EU in 1973, I cannot see them dropping this tax. They will rename it as something else.

There won't be a lot of changes in VAT. It's a productive tax that works well. Even in countries outside the EU, they've copied its principles.
Best you can hope for is a few tweaks such as, happen, the abolition of the reduced rate for goods - or just some goods - which the Government wanted to zero-rate but the EU blocked it.
Surely the "Best guess" would be what every other non-EU member has to do.
Ie pick a country, set up a VAT entity in that country and use that to trade through.
But who knows, there is no plan.
Just out of interest, do foreign countries have stupid names like Mini One Stop Shop too ?
Or, you could opt to register in every MS in which you make supplies, irrespective of value.
I thought I posted this yesterday, but my post must be hiding.
VATMOSS is not going to go away. If you electronically provide services to consumers in the EU post-Brexit, you will need to register in a Member State to deal with your VATMOSS obligations. The Republic of Ireland seems to be the logical place for UK businesses to register, given that the Irish Revenue speak English and are helpful.
I would recommend any tax service customer to change their tax service provider to the Irish Revenue.
True
They answer the phone, don't seem to read the same webpage back o you that you have just looked at, you can get a name and call back the same person, and most importantly they don't have .GOV.UK!
VATMOSS is not going to go away. .
Well, if the French next year follow us and the USA in throwing up unexpected results it might!!!!!!!
Surely wanting to change the VAT rules is why 17 million voted for Brexit? (Only kidding - I know fine well it was racist xenophobia.)

Ah yes, the "people who don't agree with me must be racist" approach. How mature.
I voted to leave, and I am not a racist xenophobe. I just frigging hate Europeans. And Americans.
