Brexit Rap (musical interlude)

Referendum Rap

Didn't find your answer?

Has any accountant out there created any music concerning the referendum?

Checkout 'Referendum Rap' by MoneyManRay on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer or whatever takes your fancy.

Warning - contains Vote Leave lyrics - so those of a Planet Fear disposition should look away now!

Or maybe listen to 'Go now' by the Moody Blues.  Just a thought.

I am still listening to The Clash. I am hopeful that at some point the indecision will stop bugging me.

Surely no Brexit music thread would be complete without this...

I think we have here the makings of an old fashioned double CD to be sold at both ends of the Channel Tunnel and available at all motorway/autobahn service areas throughout the EU, remember, we have a prospective customer base of 500 million.

£8.99 at all good outlets fits the bill (quality bit of kit, guv)

I know from experience that such an esoteric "collection" will fit in really well with the various other compendiums on sale to drivers, I have purchased various similar offerings whilst driving abroad.( e.g.Who could ever forget Goodbye Saigon)

The key now , apart from the trivial issue of getting permission from the artists/composers, is what to call the double CD set,

"Now that's what I call Brexit"

might work but is somewhat uninspired

We also need input re packaging, might I suggest, in tribute to A Web, that a lot of orange would be appropriate .

Who says accountants are mere paper pushers, we are evidently all thrusting entrepreneurs leading the field in the brave new world of an export fuelled UK

Given we possibly need enough content for a double CD, and as depending on outcome there could be some particular Scottish implications, I think this tartan bedecked outfit are worthy of consideration.

Tricky to get into a playlist (they rarely if ever feature on collections) but :

Hello Goodbye possibly needs a spot.

"When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me"

we could include
(for the Brexiteers)
Bat out of Hell
Won't get fooled again
We gotta get out of this place
Call out the instigator

and
(for the Bremains)
Stay with me
Friends will be friends

and for afterwards - no matter which way it goes
We're only manking plans for Nigel

It's easier to find Brexiteer tunes (Not just the devil who has the good ones than!?)

'I Love EU' (yes that's the actual title) by Gruff Rhys. Nice and mellow.

Particularly liked "We're only making plans for Nigel" selected by Democratus as a post Referendum idea. Some great suggestions all round though, from both sides of the debate and even from those stuck on the fence listening to The Clash.

To complicate further ,after chatting with my son I think any CD set will possibly needs three discs; one disc with songs re remain, one disc with songs re leave and one disc with songs for when one does not have a scooby.

Will now have to think of a few more for the latter case this evening.

And I suggest a fourth CD - Brexit the aftermath.
Starting with Pet Shop Boys "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"

Given the band's name, think we maybe need:

"The Final Countdown" by Europe

Given the campaigns we have endured I think I need to add Fleetwood Mac -Little Lies to the playlist:

If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh no, no, you can't disguise

Though I'm not making plans
I hope that you understand there's a reason why
No more broken hearts
Better off apart, let's give it a try

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Oh no, no, no, you can't disguise

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you

So tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Tell me, tell me
Oh no, no, you can't disguise, can't disguise

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Right, my final track, irrespective of result hopefully the aspirations of both Remain and Leave are covered by one of the most beautiful recordings ever (IMHO)
