Brightpay Connect

What's your experience been?

Didn't find your answer?

I've lost count of the hours I've spent with each client set up on Connect this month and last month. Thank goodness there are only 6 of them. I am in a permanent rage.

Connect was clearly not written for bureau clients. It means that people who don't want to know how to calculate payroll have to go to the Brightpay website and wade through all the other stuff to find instructions for Connect. Setting up leave entitlement is not simple for a client who's been on BP for a while and has just started using the leave option.

And when a client (who for some reason got unconnected), reconnected to Connect this afternoon he found he apparently has no employees, although he does owe PAYE for this month's payroll. I've had to download the payroll data to Iris Openspace.

I can't guess what the next problem will be, but can guarantee there will be one.

If you're using Connect for your clients, how's it going for you?

I am completely lost at this. Completely. Connect has been written with bureaus in mind. The set up is seamless and I am surprised that even my no - tech -savvy clients have adopted this totally. They are completely thrilled with it. To the point I can’t believe it. On the odd occasion there has been an issue it’s been through my fault on set up. Yesterday I had failed to complete all the boxes in “user set up”. Consequently, although the client was linked, no employees showed. A quick phone call soon sorted this out. Brightpay always manage to achieve the “straightforward way” with all their products.

we operate a payroll bureau and i am thinking of adopting it for one of our clients in particular.

Does it allow the client to upload the employees which will then sync with bp? Is there the facility to turn off the request leave too? Or is it just more of a place where the reports/payslips are stored?

thanks

We started using it this from April and the clients have gotten to grips with it without any issues so far. As NYB states its been seamless.

Well it must be me! I've discovered I didn't tick a box marked "departments" for the client who couldn't see all the data, so again that's my fault.

I've set it up Connect with three clients so far and I'm hoping to move more over soon especially with GDPR. Maybe I've been lucky but I haven't experienced any of the issues you mentioned.
It took no more than a minute to set up a client because it pulls the info from the payroll. You can turn options on and off like annual leave, what staff can view etc. My clients using Connect love it especially the automated sending of payslips. It’s not for every client particularly the small guys but I think it’s fairly neat.
I asked about an option for employers to submit timesheets through Connect at Accountex and from what I understand it is something they may introduce in the next few months. Happy days!

A bit late to the discussion but would like to throw my two pence in. I've found the switch to using Connect to be absolutely worth it. At first, I charged the cost directly to the client as I couldn't see a benefit on my side, but now I just buy the packs and encourage my clients to use Connect as the system works so seamlessly for me. I find that the time saved never having to send payslips or replacements (which really grows as your business does) is totally worth having to go and make a few changes to those who haven't used the leave function yet.

It looks like you've resolved your issue now. In future, I would suggest picking up the phone to BP themselves as the support line is fantastic from my experience.
