Can a black cab driver claim cost of car at 100%?

Capital allowances on black cab

Didn't find your answer?

Dear members,

I am trying to find some source or HMRC guidance on capital allowances that can be claimed on Black cab. Generally the capital allowances claimed by mini cabs and other businesses is either 18% or 8% according to their CO2 emissions. However, I have heard that black cab can claim the whole cost of car at 100%.

Does anyone have any knowledge or reference of it ? That ll be really helpful.

Kind Regards,

Id wager you the capital allowances manual would be a good starting point.

You might need SpecSavers, if you continue to struggle

Thanks for sharing. Finally read the line where it says Traditional black cabs are not to be treated as Cars for capital allowances purpose. Issue resolved.

I have also ordered specsavers. Thanks for the suggestion.
