Can a client have access to the HMRC CT online

Can a client have access to the HMRC CT online services as well as the agent.

Didn't find your answer?

One of our clients wishes to see their CT account online with the HMRC, we are the agents and I have never had a situation where there appear to be two agents (I didnt think this was possible) , is it possible?

Very confused, but if you mean the Ltd Company then yes they should be able to view it in their Gov Gateway account

No doubt showing my age but it's like the old experience of entering a pub ... choose the door for the saloon bar or the one for the public bar - same pub but a different perspective (and details).

These days the saloon bar is known as the drive thru.

Funnily enough, the first date with my now wife was at the Hertfordshire Arms in Watford. It is now a McDonalds.

The use of the word "agent" was a bit ham fisted, yes the client is a limited company and the person who looks after their affairs internally wishes to see the CT position, we are agents and the client wondered as to whether they could have the same connection to the HMRC.

Then yes they can view it through the companies own Gov Gateway account (business tax account as someone else said)

If this person had access to your HMRC Government Gateway account, wouldn't (s)he be able to see the tax details of all your corporate clients or am I misunderstanding something?

I've occasionally printed a pdf of the various account pages for clients, esp where HMRC have made their "misc transfers" and other puzzling postings. Usually makes the client sorry they asked, and having a bash at unravelling matters for themselves at least allows them to appreciate the complexities before they eventually give up and ask us to sort it. Ker-ching!

I guess if your client is determined to view the account via your agent login you could always sit him down next to you while you drive the bus. Ker-ching!
