Can anyone recommend a secure online portal?

Didn't find your answer?

We would like to have an online secure portal where we can send and receive information to and from clients. Something that is user friendly. Thanks.

IRIS OpenSpace, free of charge for up to 1GB (charges for extra space, and for e-approvals/e-signatures): https://www.irisopenspace.co.uk/

Do correct me if I am wrong, but it does not have the facility to take payment, at the time the client signs the accounts/returns

Wetransfer works fine in my experience.

It might 'work' for non-sensitive information but it ain't secure

Wetransfer is just a dropbox. It's not a secure portal to hold data. Anyone with the link can access the files. Nothing is encrypted.

Well, at least it's free, and the ones that charge a lot can best be described as weetransfer I suppose.

I doubt that "well, it's free" would stand up as a defence in a case of GDPR failure.

Plenty of free/open source encryption tools out there. If you compress/encrypt then you're probably as secure as anything regardless of which service you use.

I’m sure there are, but I rather suspect that you’ve missed my point.

Do you just want a dropbox or are you storing files?

The problem with portals are clients, who never remember logons and simply find the process of having to access things or security of any type too much of a faf, to be bother with. Do you want to create a barrier to your services?

Taxcalc has Document Manager based on SmartVault (and the pricing seems to be slightly less per year too)

You want a practice management solution that includes a portal, as that gives you the security you need, along with the easy ability for you to notify your client and they to you. Check out Client Engager, which also includes digital signing for free.
