Can MA fees be a deductible expense?

Training fees

Didn't find your answer?

Hi.  Can a teacher claim the costs of studying an MA in education against income tax if they have self-funded the course?  They are already working and earning in a school and I believe this qualification enhances their understanding, up-dates existing skills and helps make them better at what they already do. Please advise.

Nope.

To get a deduction, the employee would have to satisfy:

From what you have said, it won't be satisfied.

Edit - Humbles v Brooks is relevant.
