Can you get a list of employees tax from HMRC

Resolving disputed Emplyer PAYE with HMRC

Didn't find your answer?

HMRC has got in touch with a client to ask for £1,200 more PAYE than is indicated by our payroll software, specificly for Month 12. I would like to be able to compare  my recorded amounts of  each employee's tax and NI to date with the tax office record. Has anyone managed to obtain this from the tax office? I see no other way to resolve this, but I cannot fathom how the tax office has different figures to ours

I have wasted around 6 hours on the phone to HMRC asking them why they show on their website a much lower amount of PAYE than I sent them electronically in 2015. I've had awful people sometimes and other times reasonable ones.
They've told me I've got to go for alternative dispute resolution, when they will call me. I may have to wait until September for the call apparently. Meanwhile their computer will continue to churn out letters to the client that they've overpaid.
It seems to be a lifetime's extra work with me continually asking the worried client to ignore these letters and not getting any further forward.

You may have more success with the AAM than with the employer helpline.

I used to have a Direct Dial for a PAYE Disputed Charge Resolution team - you can phone them and they usually just e-mail you the spreadsheet with YTD tax & NIC figures for every employee. Makes reconciliation a whole lot easier.

I will try to find a number for them when get home and post it here.

Every 2 months I get a letter from HMRC stating that a client has overpaid PAYE going back several years. In the letter they demand that a reconciliation is done by the client to agree their figures.
However the overpaid amount varies between £1500 and £3000 (not round figures)
I've told the client not to waste their time trying to reconcile a moving feast as we are happy that the correct figures have been paid

A small step for sensibility
