Cash account irregularities

When the cash account prevents your accounting work flow

Didn't find your answer?

One day I attended an abattoir as an assignment. I was 48 semi retired and I was subcontracted and charged with preparing p and l account and balance sheet. My paymaster was a city centre CA

Within 15 minutes of being there is had a panic attack as the cows in the pens rubbed their noses on my arm.  I realised that they were about to die and I could not prevent their demise.

I later commenced the work and found that the cash expenditure and cash lodgments to bank in aggregation exceeded the ta kings by £150.000. I could not make progress.

When I got home I found specs of blood on my suit.

How would you have faced the next day?

You're a very boring poster. Too boring for this forum dedicated to the accounting profession.

What is your goal?

I wouldn't troll an accountancy forum with another implausible tale to try to bring amusement to my sad life.

But you do you.

The specks of blood were probably from a prick.

And, not a very memorable one, either?

Why would you be permitted anywhere near cattle, about to be slaughtered? Health and Safety regulations, particularly in an abattoir (with all resultant traceability), would simply not permit it.
Your life Sir, is pure fantasy and drivel.
Are you sure the medication is working?

That’s the April Fool - it will be a serious, relevant, well articulated and thought out question.

We’ve heard about the £150k cash difference at your abattoir client before. Don’t think you mentioned the bloody suit though. I assume that you asked them to pay to get it dry cleaned in order for you to look the other way on the cash balance?

Not sure why not, certainly in the past though less so these days (1980s and 1990s) I spent a fair bit of time looking at why these sort of occurrences might arise, there are plenty of avenues to explore and myriad rational reasons, they are also, sometimes, quite good fun, akin to completing a jigsaw without all the pieces and no box lid to guide, complete the bits you have and interpret what ought to be in the blank bits from the surroundings.
