Cash Register report from Non Vat registered Shop

Cash Register report from Non Vat registered Shop

Didn't find your answer?

cash register report

receipt

Hello Everyone,

We are small accounting office and we supply services for small businesses,

This is my first question on this forum, i hope someone take a minute and reply for my query which will be much approciate.

I have a new client, He opened a small Grocery Shop , he is non Vat registered as he did not exceed the threshold yet. He started trading from Jylu 2020.

I have recived today a cash register  report and example of receipt which he is giving to his customers.

I am suprised because i can see the VAT on the report, in my opinion he should not put the vat, he has no VAT number.

This is my first Grocery shop so i am not sure how is the cash register working exactly.

Would youy be able to check the image and let me know is it correct?

Thank you veru much.

No, I can't read any of it.

But I agree he shouldn't be showing VAT if he's not registered.

There will hopefully be something within the settings for the till that can remove the reference- a good read of the till manual might be helpful.

If the grocer is going to succeed vat registration is pretty much inevitable (combination of GP% and reg threshold) so at the same time you obviously want to decide how you are going to deal with vat when the business does need to register and if you are planning to split at point of sale rather than margin ensure till can report what you need and client capable of operating it correctly.

Hate to say in my opinion it takes a very brave or foolish person to open up from scratch a grocers as a brand new business ,which I presume is what your client has done rather than taking over an existing business?

The client does not want to be register for VAT until he will exceed the threshold, and yes this is a new shop.

What I understand, if client inform me that he is not vat registered and he he does not want to be untill excess the threshold , I expected receipt without vat. That is why I was confused and i post this to be sure.
