CCH Software, do you recommend?

We are currently looking at moving away from IRIS and moving to CCH.

Didn't find your answer?

We are currently looking at moving away from IRIS and moving to CCH.

Has anyone used the full CCH package for accounts, tax etc? If so would you recommend?

We are a fast growing small practice with 13 staff members and fully paperless and looking for honest feedback if this package would be suitable for our size and needs. If you have any negative feedback we would love to hear that too as we want to make a well informed decision.

Thanks

Michelle

Good luck! You will need it with CCH. It is significantly less sophisticated than IRIS. Things which are done automatically in IRIS require manual intervention in CCH.

CCH is much better for personal tax - very intuitive, but not used it for accounts. Personally, I find Iris hard work, it over complicates everything. It reminds me of windows vista, in that there are endless prompts and pop ups not to mention instabilities. Some of the things it does are outright dangerous. Dividends and CGT are a complete nightmare unless it's very simple. Being able to only have one year and client open at a time is draconian.

Used it for 6 months here, and we are already looking for an exit.....

Not used CCH myself but the firm I used to work with used IRIS and then they got taken over and have now moved to CCH as that was the take over firms preferred software.

All the staff hate CCH and say that IRIS was much better.

That was a 4 partner firm with about 40 staff.
