Change year end of sole trader from 05.04 to 31.03

as easy as just putting on the tax return?

Didn't find your answer?

I have a sole trader client who previously their year end was made up to 05.04.

This year they are using xero and they would like their year end to be 31.03 to tie in with xero management reports (as it does not allow to 05.04).

So is it possible that we just prepare the accounts and tax return being the period 06.04.2018 to 31.03.2019? And put the dates in the tax return? I know this will leave some days short which will then be declared on the next return.

many thanks

Yes.

No problem.

See ss 208 et seq, ITTOIA 2005.
