Changing software

Hi All

Has anyone recently changed from Iris to CCH.  Did it cause much interruption? Did you experience any significant delays due to rekeying of information?

Iris customer care seems non-existent.

I have been with Iris 15 plus years so a little nervous about change, but lack of service and Iris cost means I need to seriously look at changing and giving notice 90 days before renewal

Not done Iris to CCH for about 15 years but any reason you picked CCH? I wouldn't suggest any of the traditional on prem vendors have great customer support and it really depends on if you're lucky to get a proactive account manager

We moved from IRIS to TaxCalc & are very happy with the decision.

Don't know, never used CCH.

If you meant to ask about TaxCalc programmes are held locally. Database can be either locally or in the cloud. We use the cloud version. This configuration gives best of both worlds.

Ah, well that's a bit of a story... Ultimately happy with the choice - no, but that's because we have to use an on prem solution for the various complexities we deal with. That means we have to use a UI designed in the early 2000's, lack any real automation benefit and staff dislike the systems! Unfortunately, there isn't a viable cloud alternative for all our needs but it's highly likely we'll transition to Silverfin for a significant number of clients in the not too distant future.

Sadly almost three weeks since contacting IRIS and a booked phone call for Friday never materialised. Action or lack there of from IRIS really poor, starting to conclude that they do not care about customers.

So looks like I will have to move from IRIS, they do not return phone calls or even keep phone appointments that they booked and they do not respond to my emails.

Iris obviously do not care about their customers
