Child benefit declaration on 12/13 tax return

Child benefit declaration on 12/13 tax return

Didn't find your answer?

We will be sending out 12/13 tax return checklists to our clients shortly.

Can any correspondent confirm the precise information that will need to be declared on the 12/13 Self Assessment tax return relating to Child Benefit for those people affected by the quite insane High Income Child Benefit Charge? I have been unable to find the 12/13 tax return guide on the HMRC website, which presumably will detail the information required. Will taxpayers need to declare the income of spouses and civil partners, National Insurance numbers of spouses/civil partners, details relating to children, child benefit received, precise dates of cohabitation etc

It would be appreciated if any members can confirm how this moronic policy is to be policed?

You can find

Draft returns HERE.

Look on page 5 of the SA100 HERE

Box 1 of the HICBC boxes asks you to:
Enter the total amount of Child Benefit you and your partner received for the period from 7 January 2013 to 5 April 2013

Box 2 of the HICBC boxes asks you to:
Enter the number of children you and your partner received Child Benefit for during the period from 7 January 2013 to 5 April 2013
