Childcare voucher Over payment refund

In July 2020 I deducted 20 GBP from an employee as childcare voucher but processed a voucher for 243 GBP. Employee is ready to pay the difference to the company now itself to avoid any double decution in August. Could I ask the employee to pay us 223 and I can adjust the amounts along with August payroll?

Is this a salary sacrifice arrangement? Do you mean deduction?

A deduction does not qualify for any tax nor NICs relief, where as a salary sacrifice arrangement does.

Why don’t you just correct on the next payment, after all it is a correctiin and in reality it is an annual entitlement allowance under the Basic Earnings Assessment (assuming it is employer provision and not employee purchase).

If there is tax relief considerations, why would the employee pay 223.

Yes adjust in the next pay cycle.
