CIMA MIP renewal - anyone done it?

New CIMA website does not support online renewal

Didn't find your answer?

CIMA MIPs might recall I usually moan about the number of reminders I receive between October and January. This year, nothing! Not even an email telling me about the shiny new AICPA-CIMA website. I managed to renew my core CIMA membership but there is zero guidance on MIP renewal. Some Googling took me to a page that informed me that online renewal is not possible at the moment and that I should have received an email on 23 Jan with further instructions, which I haven't. So I emailed them at the end of January and guess what, no reply.

Has anyone managed to renew their MIP?

Although not MIP, I renewed my membership just before Christmas - I don't recall the details other than it was a frustrating challenge (even more so than previous years), and I had to go back to it several times over a number of days until I was able to renew.

Experiencing the same frustration. I called the call centre - an experience in itself - and was advised to email a special new email address to ask for the instructions. I did so some days ago. No reply as yet. It isn't very good, this.

I haven't managed to renew my Cima membership it was due in December never mind my MIP. The website wouldn't let me input my debit card details.

I've heard this from a few people. Using a different browser sometimes solves the problem. Shouldn't be necessary but unfortunately CIMA's systems seem to be very temperamental.

I guess if they can't provide a renewal process they can't expect us to give much of a toss about it

This calls for some variance analysis to evaluate the difference between CIMA's planned performance and its actual performance.

Then write to CIMA and inform them you'll have to adjust your overhead absorption rate to budget for the large fine headed your way for having no AML supervision.

Ah, but I use another body for AML supervision. If they ever got round to it they could moan about being in practice without being registered, but I would have to then point out that they have failed to provide me with a means if renewing my registration then suing them for punitive damages for the hurt and offence caused by them ignoring me to which I could also add gender discrimination because I now know they have contacted female members.

I would hazard a guess that their new system was implemented by a company beginning wih F.

The Member in Practice renewal closing date of 18th March 2024.
Renewal must be complete by this date and is a shortened version of the usual renewal. Payment will not be taken just yet.
You must renew your ordinary subs which were due by end of December before going through renewal.
To complete MiP renewal for 2024 please submit via this link CIMA’s AML/CTF annual return:
https://cima.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3WM6OXH4ZRXN0TY. You will receive further communication at a later stage when payment can be made.

Thank you Julie. I have now found an email in my spam folder from 28 Feb which mentions this. All a bit of a joke though.
