CIMA MiP Renewals -

Anyone lost the will?

Didn't find your answer?

Interested to know if anyone else is finding CIMA's new renewal process this year even more frustrating than it usually is. If you have contact details for Sarah Ghosh I would be very interested in knowing them.

Thanks

Dave

I was only thinking about this today and checking my emails to see if I'd missed the email asking for the renewal fee. My certificate has been renewed but only until the end of June 2024 rather than the full year. It just says that an email will follow once their website is updated.

I've been waiting for the same email - but now despite receiving notification that they were extending the certificates to June - they are now sending out emails saying they are no longer valid. Fortunately I have a copy of my submission dated 23 Jan when I received notification that we could use the new process . I don't think they know what they are doing. I am just letting Sarah know my thoughts in a letter to her today.

There was a similar thread recently from a CIMA member (not MiP) - I also had difficulties renewing my membership (even more so than previous years).

I can't understand why it is so difficult.

Having been a member for 25 years I am fortunate that my employers have paid my subscriptions, as other than using the qualification on my CV to get jobs I have not received any other value from being a member.

Actually a regular monthly topic on here this year - see:

https://www.accountingweb.co.uk/any-answers/cima-mip-renewal-anyone-done-it

Sounds like meltdown to me (not really recovered from the administrative impact of the JV with the AICPA and then the introduction of the CGMA PQ?) ... but then I'm just a casual observer.

“Meltdown” is a good description. Maybe Fujitsu are the IT consultants.

I think the only tangible benefit is the use of the letters. Personally I’ve never used the CGMA designation.

From an MiP perspective we are allowed to use the practising certificate logos.

Whether my membership now affords me a considered reply to my letter to the CIMA president - remains to be seen.

You must remember when we were ICMA (and even ICWA). If I remember correctly the change to CIMA was meant to be temporary pending the chartered status when it was to revert back to the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants. Time has flown.

This has been a dreadful saga. If anyone wants to PM me, I have an mail for Matthew at CIMA who is a competent human who can help as soon as he is reached. Another route is to find Julie Bickerdyke on LinkedIn - she very kindly does one of the voluntary roles.

I now have an email from Matthew (generic email) who does seem like a breath of fresh air. However it has annoyed me so much I am on a mission to get answers. Members and staff alike seem to be let down by mismanagement.

Hello. My subscription has been automatically renewed every January but not this January. I haven't received any correspondence regarding this and I can't find my log in details or membership number as it is years since I have last used it!
