I have just received a reminder about AML Renewal from CIOT with a hike in renewal fee to £300. This seems very high. Are there any cheaper alternatives for tax advisers? (Not a member of any accountancy body).

Paul, I've just paid mine (resembling the scene where Whoopi Goldberg has the cheque prised out of her hand in Ghost).
As HMRC have just put their fee up to £300 and CIOT is matching this, I think it's unlikely you'll find cheaper - although happy to be corrected.
