waste removal

can anyone advise if waste removal is within the scope of CIS and should be liabile for deductions

I Cant find any reference to waste removal in the HMRc guidance

Think we've discussed this before on here and the conclusion was was along the lines that if the contractor was digging up & removing the spoil then that was within however if mere 'muckaway' / removing the waste extracted by others then that was outside.

Yes. depends on the extent of the service provided.

Is the skip loaded or just collected ? That's the question.

check the muck away 'process'

(from memory that only gets a line or two in the guidance)

is it turn up and takeaway

or the full 9 yards..........do the heavy work, and takeaway.

having said that , some contractors may deduct the 20% even when the service is clearly outside CIS.

so have your facts and guidance notes available .

which, in turn, your client will have on his own tax compliance file ?
