CiS and employers allowance

how does the employers allowance affect CiS refunds

Hi all, this is my first post and I need to find out how employers allowance affects the final pay out figure for a CIS refund.

Here is the example that I need answered.

in year 15/16 my company accrued £10222.98 in CiS deductions .

I suffered £2838.20 in income tax

£49 in student loans

£1819.97 in employee Ni

£2075.99 in employer Ni

my company received the full employers allowance of £2000

from the above figures does anybody know what my CiS Refund should be.

The CIS deductions less everything else except the employer's NI.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Sorry if my reply is a bit [***] but from your answer my cis rebate should be calculated after the employers allowance has been deducted., in effect increasing the cis rebate by the amount of employers allowance used.
Hmrc seem intent on always bringing Employers allowance up when disputing CIS rebates.

His answer was that you should ignore the employer's NI, nothing to do with the employment allowance.

In your case, the employment allowance is the same as the employers NI. Forget about both of them.

apart from £75.99
(and assuming that the company is eligible to receive employment allowance eg is not connected to another business already receiving it)

Thanks to all who have replied,
And all replies considered then my calcs would reveal a CiS rebate of £5439.82.
HMRC are driving me to drink . I requested a face to face meeting to sort out my dilemma but what I did not know but know now is, at least in Scotland , there are no drop in centres , they have all closed. I have spoken to so many hmrc staff on the phone, raised 3 complaints, been promised callbacks that have not happened, they chase me for money! If Hmrc was not a government body they would have been liquidated a long time ago as their customer service would have chased customers away.

I take it you've claimed these CIS deductions on your RTI submissions ?

Just checking - I try to assume nothing.

I assume that you have made your repayment request in writing, as well as chasing up over the phone. Have HMRC given any reason for the delay in repaying? Have they asked for a reconciliation of CIS amounts?

It's long story . All previous quoted figures except the CiS suffered have somehow, when submitted via the hmrc paye basic tools, doubled when received by hmrc . So my end of year payment summary contains what I believe to be the correct figures and HMRC have figures that have doubled and it is these figures that are causing a problem.
